installing windows server 2003 32bit on newest 64bit cpu

hello all,

we just purchased some new hp servers which came with amd opteron cpu
which I understand are 64bit cpus.
can I safely install windows server 2003 32bit (the traditional
one....) on it ? we are not ready to deploy 64bit os.

is there full compatibility for this combination ? a link to a ms kb
or something similar would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance!!
zz

yes

surely HP can supply you with an official statement, if not, you can look it
up in the Microsoft catalog http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/
