Application Sharing Server link not appearing in RWW
|

On Thu, 3 Jul 2008 00:08:01 -0700, Darren <...@discussions.microsoft.com
Hi, I have a real problem that I cannot solve. The Applications sharing
server link does not appear in RWW. I have read all the articles regarding
TSCompat, TSAppCompat registry keys, port 3389, pingable, server in
attributes in AD, TS in application mode, reg key for App Server link set to
1 etc, cant figure it out. Is there any way to debug this?
Thanks

Application Sharing server?
Do you mean This?
Connect to Server Desktops
Access server desktops within the network.
or something else?

What user account(s) are you testing this from? If you are using a
domain user a/c you should see the "Connect to my company's
application-sharing server" link, but if you are using a domain admin
a/c you won't see this link - you then access the TS via the "Connect
to server desktops" link instead. This is normal behaviour.
There are also some registry settings that you can modify to manage
what links appear on the RWW admin and user pages, here:

Thanks for the responses guys. To answer, the only change I made was install
the box on a customer site. Also, I am logged in as a user acc, as you say
when I log in as domain admin acc then I get the admin menu. From the admin
menu I can connect to server desktops, and the TS member is listed there, and
I can connect, so there is no connection issues. I've checked all the
registry entries, even tried setting them off to test they remove links, like
OWA, and they do. However Application Server link wont display whether
registry set to 0 or 1. REALLY FRUSTRATING ! :o(
Thanks for the offers of help, I've also googled the hell out of it and cant
find anything new to try. I can possibly feel a rebuild on the cards. I
reckon its something really stupid, but I cant figure it.

Hi there, yes that is the registry key I have checked, already set at 1.
Tried to zero, then back to 1, no odds. I did originally just add it myself
using the standard My Computer, Computer Name, Change, etc. It worked then !
Then it stopped working, so yesterday I removed from the domain, and added
using the wizard, again to no avail. I read another article saying if the TS
license server was not on the SBS server, after 120 days it would stop
working. It was not 120 days before it stopped though, and I have now moved
the license server to the SBS box. The only issue I can find is that when you
run the ts licensing snap in on the sbs box, it fails to find a license
server. You have to say connect, and then localhost, and all is well. There
is a reg key for the license server on the TS, and the enterpise license
server is the SBS box, which is correct. Stumped.
