Outline level for Certain Styles keeps changing and cannot be fixe

On Thu, 3 Jul 2008 01:32:00 -0700, kevin55 <...@discussions.microsoft.com

I have a Word 2007 document in a template with lots of styles. In one
document only, certain styles that should be body text level, keep changing
to Level 1 in the document map and in the TOC.
When I open the document mapand select the style, it shows as Body Text in
the Modify Style Pane it is shown as Outline Level If i open the Paragraph dialog box this way, I can change it to the right
Outline level. After selecting "Update to match selection" everything is
fine. But when I save the document and then open it again, all the problems
are back.

I have tried to copy the document into another blank template but this does
not help.
Other documents based on the same template do not have the problem.
Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it permanently will be
greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
