Quad and a quad-core Xeon are about the same price.
For example, X3350, a quad-core Xeon at 2.66 GHz
with a 12MB L2 cache and 1333 MHz FSB, or a Core 2 Quad (Q9550) at 2.83 GHz, 12 MB L2 cache, 1333 MHz
