Albert Pujols VS Barry Bonds - Sports General - PlayStation.com Forums
If you had to back only one of these two players, who would you back and why?
Be it stats, personality, contribution to the community, or just overall impressions!
I think it's safe to say that I'd choose Albert Pujols over Barry Bonds anyday.
I really like how Pujols is tough and arrogant on the field, but then off the field, he's a nice guy that does the right things.
I like his interviews or when their talking to him after a game, reminds me of how "Nuke Laloosh" gives his interviews when he makes it to the majors in "Bull Durham".
Sticking to the basics and staying boring!

Barry Bonds should be stripped of all his records and leave the sport forever in disgrace after they find him guilty of steroid use.

Pujols, he is just an all-around better person, he is a really good and he didn't have to better his game by taking roids.

Pre-clear and cream roids bonds was a totally different player.
He was a true five tool player only player approaching him was griffey junior (if barring injuries we would be talking about his HR record not aarons IMHO).
He could and did bat lead off, could range in left field, hit for average and power.
I remember on ESPN when Mcgwire andSosa broke Marises record Peter Gammons stating Bonds was a better player with 38-39 hrs.
Then something happened(Balco) and he came this one dimensional.
He bulked up via clear and creamed his a55 into a 70 plus home run hitting DH.
Very disappointing end to a hall of fame career.Ending not gracefully, but an arrogant, unrepentant cheater.
I hope to God Pujols is paying attention.
A friend bails you out of jail.
A best friend is sitting next you in cell saying "What the Heck did we do last night??!!??".

Barry bonds is a first ballot hall of famer who has filled the stands everywhere he went for the last 12 years....pujols has unlimited potential and can carrya team.
If Pujols ends up having half the career that barry has then it will be a success....too be that good for that long is elite, people love to hate barry because he continues to be successful whereas others have fallen off.
Love him or hate him he is a great baseball player, Period.

Barry bonds was the most versatile player in the history of baseball when he was younger, but i guess it's easy to forget about all of that.

You didn't mention why he's been an elite there Claybon, it is because of steroids.
Pujols is doing his thing through dedication and hard work.
I can never pull for someone that has cheated the game.
His stats mean nothing to me, he might as well have an asterisk by his records already.
I'm a huge St.
Louis Cardinals fan, and believe me, I feel the same way about Mark McGwire.
In my mind, the single season record holder for homeruns is still Roger Maris!
