Professional Mormon Apologist: Don't Try This At Home, I Am A Professional - Christian Forums

I was watching an episode of "Mythbusters" and they state that they are professionals and not to try this at home.

So I thought that I would start a humor thread for all to jump in on. Tell us all why your apologetic views are the best and why a non professional should leave it to us self proclaimed "experts"

Tell us all why your apologetic views are the best and why a non professional should leave it to us self proclaimed "experts" Oh, oh, I've got one: although I'm not an apologist, I have actually read the Book of Mormon, unlike many who just read anti-Mormon web sites and copy-and-paste from them.

Quite a few people who are critical of the Church don't even know anything about the LDS scriptures, judging from my online experiences.

I randomly run up to people and scream that their sinners.

Then there are the people who are afraid of it, afraid to read it, and some so afraid that they don't even want to touch it, as if it would cast a spell on them and they'd succumb to Satan's control.

It's almost unbelievable that there are people who actually view it with such superstition but I'm noticing more of this as time goes by.

Pretty interesting, and even funny too, but really, so sad.

Oh yeah, I've experienced this also.

I gave a friend some LDS materials, including scriptures, and next thing you know she was telling me she had thrown them away, as they weren't "spirit-filled" and represented a sort of spiritual threat to her simply by being inside her house. Go figure. Then there are the self-appointed would-be Book of Mormon "authorities" who refuse to read it, as it "puts them to sleep." Yet they declare themselves to be in the know about this book they won't read.

I read the BoM several times.

Only it was the good one.

The RLDS one, that has kept the same versification as the early restoration BoMs.

That means I can speak more authentically about historical events.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT PRAY ABOUT THE BOOK OF MORMON! hows that?

Yeah, as if God weren't able to reveal truth to people in a discernable way.

That one always gets me.

Yes, You are a professional with credentials.

I would concur with my colleague that he is a professional apologist.

We are still waiting for our pay checks.

This is unprofessional.

You should use a pulpit and preach to yourself in the mirror.

After anger management your apologetic skills should be honed.
