I used to ask about this. The concept of dowry in Islam is not the same as we used to know.

Their parent doesn't get any slightest bit of the dowry (the gift from the bridegroom to the bride).

So no one sell any bride here .

Furthermore, the dowry can be anything.

I mean anything as long as it's halal.

Even a copy of al-Quran.

Does that means women can be bought in Islam?

Nope. It just a token of love (who said material doesn't involve in love?

. Who wouldn't be happier when receive a gift from their lovers.

On the important date nonetheless). There's no force marriage in Islam.

Are you saying, you know a father that match-making her daughter?

Y'know, an arranged marriage.

That's a custom/tradition, not Islamic teachings.

Firstly, you might have experienced such an event but asking that absurd question-as another example of the absurd questions which start with "Do muslims..."- based on only one example makes me think you are not sincere.. Secondly, yes there are muslim fathers who want, sometimes even force, their daughters to marry to men that are rich for money...But you should know that this is not Islamic and Muslims can do non-Islamic things and try to justify them with Islam...
