locks, check - handles, check - vents, check.. anything else? - Topic Powered by eve community

So, I got all the Quote: s for the double glazing and front door (with refitting of original stained glass) and have compiled a list of things to confirm with the company I have chosen before finally going ahead (these are not mentioned in the paper they sent obviously): [LIST] Pilkington K glass on all windows toughened glass as and where necessary trickle vents in (some of the windows) obscure glass in one window (their drawings have clear glass on all windows even tho I specified I wanted textured glass for one) key operated locks on all windows British standard kite marks FENSA certificate 10-year (company) guarantee (they've been around 20 years and have good reputation) I can't figure out from the designs where the handles will be on each door.

I will obviously clarify this and also the handle and lock on the door is on the right when i look at the drawing but on the left when I look at my door (from outside the house) Also wondering what other extras I need for the door (except the locks and letterbox ) and I only came up with door chain. Am I missing anything important? Also, does anyone know what a 'gas vent' is?

(as opposed to trickle vents which I know is the sliding one) Or fire hinges?

(one window is going to be used as a fire escape).

Low E glass? Link

Pilkington K is low E glass and it now has to be fitted as standard.

Everything seems fine...

Just double check the handle position and where the fan windows[cant remember the right word] openings are positioned.

I mean the sizes.

Mine I asked for 600 and they had drawn a 200 i think...

I changed it and I had to pay 50 pounds more.

I could have argued about that 50£ but I was already in a hassle with the plumbers that time. And my room width bedroom windows has 2 opening windows either side and middle one fixed, all in equal sizes but I was finally fitted with 2 small sizes each side and middle panel is widest.

I didnt complain as it looked better this way with big views.

May be I will need more opening in summer.

Thanks everyone birdy- what does that 600 and 200 relate to exactly?

I was just given some sized for vents today...

300, 400 and 500 no idea what these are... also, I have a gas fire in the lounge and not sure if I need a 'hit and miss' fan?

(those that are always open) any ideas?
