I work at a mom and pop cutlery shop and have done so for a very long time.
The box stores are destroying these type of busineses, as is the internet.
Luckily the shop I work for has had the same owners for 24 years and they are quite savy at the business.
Walmart killed Schrade, a US made knife business, by supposedly not following through on a verbal contract.
Shrade existed in the US since the 1800's.
Now some Chinese company bought their toolings and their name as they went banqrupt.
I hate freakin walmart
Have you been touched by HIS noodley appendage?

You ever wonder if Karl Marx was right about capitalism, not a comy myself, but the guy had some interesting insight.

I think it has to do more with putting morals behind your money.
People who would never ever raise a hand to a person don't stop to think that they are paying companies to do just that.I put a lot of effort into spending my money as cleanly as possible.
If that means I pay more and live with less I figure its worth it.

I'm happy if I can buy American products, just where in the heck is that though.Regarding the morals issue, I hate to tell ya but it will never happen, we are primates at heart and its a dog eats dog world.
I myself try to rise above that kind of BS but the human animal in whole is nothing but hairless apes trying to climb to the top of the tree.
Darwinism at its finest.

Maybe so but to paraphrase Garth Brooks;
"I don't do it to change the world.
I do it to let the world know they won't change me."
Hey, I like that, don't listen to country but I like that.
