anti war?? - City Hall - Election 2008 - Comcast.net Community Forums

In your opinions who or what group is the most anti-war in America?

Quote: : In your opinions who or what group is the most anti-war in America?

I think most people and groups are anti-war.

Who would be pro-war?

But there are situations where there is no other option.

Maybe you want to make your question more specific.

But there are situations where there is no other option.

Maybe you want to make your question more specific. Well put Lurker.I can't imagine anyone is pro war, except the radical Islamic fundamantalists we face today.

They are a group of midevil baboons willing to kill for pure ideology.

There is only one way to fight that fight. The question is how do we go about protecting ourselves against this current threat or any threat. The other question is once committed to war how is it prosecuted? If those are the questions  then for me, the  answers are that  you do anything possible to protect yourself, to survive, and in a war you use anything and everything at you disposal to defeat the enemy's will to continue.

The 'current' crop of anti-war persona in the US.

1)5th column moslems;2)a blinded by false perception american public, 3)their self serving 'tolerance' advocating lackeys4)and proxy ' understanding' touchy feely my "vote is already sold" political representatives.

The idiots running this current fiasco are anit-war, at least it seems that to me as they have to be completely incompetent or intentionally screwing up to continue this BS war for monetary gain (for Bush's rich buddys). Have you been touched by HIS noodley appendage? All hail the FSM, Yo Ho, Yo Ho.

Of course nobody wants war.

However, sometimes history has proven that it is a necessary evil.

The extreme anti-war crowd has their head in the clouds.

They always have!

Winjo, who is most "anti-war"? I would say the most anti-war group are those who significantly reduce their oil consumption because they don't want their money going to the monsters of the middle east.

I am talking about people who ride bicycles, walk, use mass transit, burn E85 in their cars, etc because they are not blind like most of the U.S.

Such people are the most anti-war because they are genuinely denying self for a greater good.

There are plenty of people who say they are anti-war, but they are not willing to take the simplest personal actions to help end this war.

In fact, most of them are directly funding the tyrants and terrorists who are killing our troops, by driving giant vehicles and otherwise unnecessarily consuming large amounts of oil. Personally, I use about one quarter of the amount of gasoline burned by the average U.S.citizen, in my daily life.

I have simply found ways to get around without gasoline.

I despise going to the gas pump, knowing that a substantial amount of my gas money is going to the barbaric masses of the middle east.

I don't believe that your view on war is necessarily a fixed thing.

You can be anti-war in priniciple...until and event occurs that causes you to be pro-war...which lasts until some other event occurs to bring you back to being anti-war.

Is America getting the facts from the media or government to make a good decision?

Did you know ? Did you know that 47 countries' have reestablished their embassies in Iraq? Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi people? Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation, 263 new schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been completed in Iraq? Did you know that Iraq's higher educational structure consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all currently operating? Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program? Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational? They have 5 - 100-foot patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment. Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft (under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers? Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando Battalion? Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained and equipped police officers? Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over 3500 new officers each 8 weeks? Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq? They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities. Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations? Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October? Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and phone use has gone up 158%? Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations? Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004? Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a televised debate recently? OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW! WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW? OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US! Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades. Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves two purposes: It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage American citizens. ---- Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site. http://www.defenselink.mil/ Pass it on!

Give it wide dissemination!

It's always nice to get both sides of the story.

Sure there are many problems in Iraq, but that is all we hear about.
