No cutsey little play on words for me tonight guys and gals - just screaming to the high heavens "we got pink!!
We got pink!!! we got pink!!!" we were just told by our sw this afternoon that the earliest we'd hear anything would be tomorrow.
So i stopped stalking our email by 4pm and had supper/went to a friend's house/came home/talked with greg for a while/started going to bed/wanted to check the boards one last time/and lo and behold "adoptguatemala: embassy interview time/packet enclosed.
Now mind you it's 11pm here and all the kids are in bed sleeping - then comes my "we got pink!!
We got pink!! we got pink!!" mantra and ben wakes up, grace falls outta bed, abby starts yelling where's the fire, where's the fire!, andrew picks his nose and says i wanna sleep, luke shakes like he's having a seizure and pulls the covers back over, caleb is still awake and is just laughing at me running through the house like a crazed woman, and ben is screaming his head off.
That folks is the way it played out at our house at 11pm at night!!
Of all the ways that this had played out in my mind as happening - i can honestly say that this one NEVER came to light in my head!
anyway, the details our appointment is next thurs.
At 7:15am but we can't pick up her visa until the following mon!!!
Greg is worried about how he's going to pull this one off at work.
Everything will come together though.
So it's onto making flight arrangements and hotel arrangements...doing laundry packing the kids organizing the paperwork....all in about 4 days AAAA !!!!
one question i do have for you all who have gone through this....we won't be going early to do the sightseeing/shopping stuff before the embassy appointement - has anyone done it where they've had their appt.
And then traveled to antigua/zoo/market anywhere with their child in tow?
Was it safe?
oh, sweet lydie....mama and papa are coming soon!!!

That is so awesome.
We were in a similar situation.
We were there several days before we could pick up the Visa, and we went all over the place with Demi.
We went shopping at a mall near the hotel, went to grocery stores, went to the artisans market across from the zoo, Antigua, etc.
Bethany just told us to make sure we kept a copy of her BC and a copy of one other thing (maybe her passport) with us at all times.
We did carry them both with us at all times.
No one ever asked to see them, and we didn't have a bit of trouble!
Get ready for the best trip of your life!

We didn't venture out much, but have friends who did quite a bit.

PRAISE THE LORD LYDIA IS COMING HOME We went to Antigua with Chloe, eventhough we were advised not to, and it was VERY safe and VERY beautiful and I'm so glad we decided not to listen to the people who advised us not to go!

This is just wonderful news It has been so long since we have had someone get PINK on the BB.
I'm so glad that Lydia will be coming home soon...FINALLY CONGRATULATIONS and get packing.
