[[Category:History Workgroup]] vs [[Category:History]]
Please see http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Category:History
It shows 8 pages with a special "sub category", History.
For example, the History page has:
[[Category:History| ]]
[[Category:History Workgroup]]

I would say yes you can delete them.
I'm pretty sure you'll find those are a throwback to wikipedia.
It's the same with many of the biology related articles being tagged with life science related categories.
In that case they are all have wikipedian origins.

Agree, it looks like a redundancy to me.
For example, I deleted [[Category:Biology]] and [[Category:Linguistic]] (an editor was informed for the latter.
No one protested so far.
More complicated case is [[Category:Microbiology]], where there are some articles and theoretically it is not identical in scope to [[Biology_Workgroup]].
So i left it alone, for possible future changing to [[Microbiology Workgroup]].
Still, I have impression that this is a tag that come from Wikipedia and just happened to survive cleanups in some random cases.
Thus, it will not be of great value and deleting it would cause no big harm.

I think we may see categories which are similar to wikipedia arise once we have more articles...
Even though there is strong upper end resistance to all categories.
However, don't you think it is useful to have a box at the bottom of the article with for example common blood pathologies on
