thinkpads.com Support Community :: View topic - Unknown programs in Startup: Bluetooth, Digital Line Detect

My ThinkPad came with two programs in the Startup group that I cannot identify.

One is "Bluetooth", the other "Digital Line Detect".

The shortcuts point to the following programs. C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Bluetooth Software\BTTray.exe C:\Program Files\Digital Line Detect\DLG.exe What is the purpose of these applications and can I remove them from the Startup group?

I don't use Bluetooth and disabled it in ThinkPad Configuration. Last edited by FredFromNYC on Mon Jul 31, 2006 11:49 pm;

You can remove Bluetooth from the startup if you don't want it. Also, the digital line detector is useful if you use your modem alot;

It does, suprise, as its name indicates and detects the characteristics of a digital modem line. They don't need to be in startup if you don't use the services.

Thanks for the information.

I will remove both items as I use neither Bluetooth nor the modem.
