Has anyone had issues with their screen not responding to touch in some spots??
ive noticed sometimes about 1cm in from the left my iphone will not respond to touch, whereas it does sometimes.
running 1.1.4 unlocked via ziphone...
Any ideas??

I've had my (1st gen) iphone sometimes lose reposnsiveness on the screen but it seems more like a 'hang' than dead spots;
But what I did notice over the weekend that safari and Maps.app kept crashing, which was really odd.
(and very annoying)
I did a reset from the preferences menu and it seems to have helped (and to be honest, back in the day where updates were coming through every month, I would always wipe the phone clean and start with a fresh install each time) but considering I haven't updated since 1.1.4 first came out, there must me SO much cruft floating about the nether-regions of my iphone causing a few clogs...

it happens about once every 100 videos or so for me.
Might be to do with the wifi connection id say.

Yep, I'd avoid Kate for sure.
Simply too many issues and as soon as I removed it most of those issues ceased.
BTW, even the pr0n industry is having success with the iPhone lol:

Hi Guys,
I just purchased a new iphone from america, (NOT the 3g one) with the firmware 1.1.4.
I'm not very tech savvy but love the design of this phone hence why i purchased it but im having difficulties with seeing the contact names for sms's when i receive them.
When someone calls, i can see their name but with sms it just shows the number.
Does anyone know what program i can use or how to fix this up?

One of the three items Simon has there will allow your sms app to match up with your contacts.
Install all three though then you will be covered for most Aussie related things.

I've found that my iPhone battery doesn't last as long anymore.
Had it for about 5 months and it seems to be about half of what it used to be.
This basically occurred overnight and wasn't gradual at all.
I'm on 1.1.2.
Anyon else had something similar?

Looked at the usage times and had:
Usage = 2 hours, 30 minutes
Standby= 21 hours, 29 minutes.
Maybe it's me, but that usage seems like quite a bit to have.
I had push email turned on but only received a few emails in that time.
Sent a few smses to but thats all.
I wasn't using the internet or listening to music either.
It was just in standby.
I'd say I wouldn't have used it for more then about 20 minutes of actual use.
What is everyone elses usage?
EDIT: Thought I should add that my brightness is turned way down as well.
