I feel the traffic from digg may not be targeted, especially when you monetize your site with adsense!

You won't get traffic from digg but valuable backlink, which will facelift your site or blog.

One question from great earners is that , Which class of visitors click more on ads ?
I mean to say backlinks , SEO , forums post , linking on other blogs , advertising ?

I got on the front page of Digg about two years ago.
While none of the Digg visitors clicked on any of my ads (they hate ads) and most of the traffic was not targeted I received a nice SEO boost from getting Dugg.
As a result my traffic doubled in a month and I'm number one for many long tail keywords.
If you're going to put something on Digg make sure it is original and worthy of being on the front page.
I've seen lots of marketers put stuff on Digg that wasted everyone's time and got no attention (for a reason).
Though, submitting a story to Digg is not about profit, it's about exposure and getting the word out about something noteworthy.
I got a fair amount of media attention and my site was written about in a couple of magazines and newspapers even.
I didn't realize the media was going to contact me and was very surprised when they did.
It's kind of like a social press release and the founder refers to it as a social news site.
Anyway, as for targeted traffic try forums.
Read the forum rules and be respectful of the community.
Also article marketing is a good way that can be used with SEO.
Try to think of places where you target audience goes on the web.

But if you are looking for valuable clicks,, you can get it only from Search engines

The max I have got about 5,00,000 visitors from Digg in a month.
The average pay per click is between 1-3 Dollars.
The CTR is a little low as compared to search engines.

For ordinary digger like me, it is only good for backlinks, it only gives me a trickle of 15 UV at most
still learning how to get to frontpage

Digg is great for sudden spurts of traffic.
If you manage to get on the front page on Digg, you get 50K unique visitors
