Kojima: MGS4 too big for 50 GB Blu-ray disc - GameTrailers.com Forums

What do you think of this? http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/02/ko...-blu-ray-disc/

That sucks, I really wanted japanese VAs on that hog.

Now i'll have o import it.

At least there's no region lock, i love sony for that.

Mgs4 ftw

I was kinda confused seeing that Blueray was suposed to be the highest data storage disc on the market today.

(Other than spanish) I enjoy the english dubbing for MGS games, so I do not mind.

Atleast it isn't like Naruto or something where the english dubbing makes you want to rip your ears off. Quote: : I was kinda confused seeing that Blueray was suposed to be the highest data storage disc on the market today.

It is, but Kojima is PURPOSELY packing the disc full with uncompress audio and visuals.

That takes up a lot of space.

He is using it to the fullest advantage.

Kojima is only complaining now becasue other develpers are blaiming the PS3 for delays....

So he want to get noticed also... he never complained about the previous MGS... If MGS4 for the 360 exclusive he would have never complained

Hmmm not good news for mgs fans I am also a mgs fan and didn't like the news about metal gear 4

He did though, he said the PS2 just isn't powerful enough for what he wants.

I've come to expect it from Kojima before every game, its what he does.

He wants a fully interactive movie;

I just hope he continues making games.

This just means we will se future cash ins like mgs4 uncut.

I think they need to learn about a little thing called compression.

No one can tell the difference from uncompressed audio and compressed audio unless they are a machine.

MGS4 Subsistence/Substance in 1-2 years FTW? When 100 GB disc is made and made to work on PS3. Another dumb comment. He hired 100 people for the sound and he wants it uncompressed. Kojima is not going to throw that away. 360 users might be fine with compressed since they are stuck with 9 GB disc. I rather have Uncompressed and top quality then less quality.

50 GB too small? How much content can this game really have.

A normal person can't even tell the difference.

It is so small of a change that there's no point in leaving it uncompressed.

It would be better to compress it, and put something useful in the space, rather than making the PS3 sound better because it will have better audio, when a human ear won't even be able to tell the difference. I'd rather have good sounding audio thats compressed, so I can have extra stuff than good sounding audio that isn't compressed and takes up too much space, so the devs have to take crap out. They probably left other stuff uncompressed as well.

It's the audio, uncompressed audio means loads od storage, if Konami would actually compress things, this would be no problem.

Ryan payton said this is easily the longest MGS game ever.

Yeah I know that, but do you know how much you can fit in 50 GB, ALOT.

Since this is the last Metal Gear, Kojima is going all out on this one.

An xbot ear wouldn't be able to hear the difference, but it would be quite apparent for everyone else.
