Why must americans continue to compete with Japan and China for american business?
I have been thinking.
Why do we insist upon making other americans turn out and compete with Japan's high quality products or lose their jobs?
Why do we insist upon making other americans compete with China's and Mexico's cheap labor and mass produced goods?
Or lose our business?
First, America does not need cars to last 10 years with little or no maintenance.
If we all bought american, we could buy a new car every three years when the warranty runs out, and have plenty of money left for other things.
We are trying to compete with a nation that does not possess the richest most powerful nation on earth already.
Why do we insist we compete with them?
We already possess what they are working so hard to possess!
We just seem to not want to share it with other americans!
We would rather give our wealth to our competition, than keep it among us.
It is hypocrisy, we want to crack the whip over other americans, buy don't want it cracked on us.
Second, Why do we insist other americans work as cheap and hard as mexicans and the chinese?
We already "used to" possess what they are working so hard for!
If we don't put a fast stop to this nonsense, we WILL be competing to regain what we once had, but refused to share and lost as a result.
Just what are we trying to accomplish by competing with mexico, china, and japan?
Do we want what they have?
Why compete, instead of enjoy what we have, and share it some among us?
Why send it overseas instead of doing so?

Being a chinese,I saw many chinese work hard and ignore their personal life while americans enjoy their life.But do they have other choices?
Perhaps they have ,but I don't know the answer.
Chinese people works very had to drive off the poverty,in recent 30 years ,living condition improved so much while the enviroment damaged badly.
Look at this world,if american would like to share all of their high-tech,let chinese workers do it,then share all products to the world,perhaps the whole world do no need to work at all.
But it is only a dream,I can't make it come true.

Maximize what you DO have, and not focus so much on taking what others have.

Pay your people good money to produce things for you.

What you said is right,china need more policies to stimulate indoors market.
Nowadays china's trade rely on US and EU too much,that make china's economy is fragile.
From last years,china government started series actions to change this,yet we need time to improve.
China has its own way to develop,the american way totally can't work in china.American is american,anyone want to copy them will be foolish.Now we try to find our own way to be a great county.
In fact,both of chinese and american suffered the same,let me show you an example:
Chinese workers worked 12 hours everyday,28 days per month,then the salary no more than 150 US dollars,and when the american customers buy the products in walmart,they find the price is very low,but they have to worry about their job,then the american customers will think china is a threat.Why such things happen?
Because walmart just want to reduce cost,walmart refuse to pay high price for the products,and chinese factories have to accept this,so they have no money to raise the salary and working conditions.With this going worse,chinese and americans will be poorer and poorer,while some capitalist become richer and richer.
In the future,perhaps walmart has enough money to make some transformers work for it,and both of chinese and americans are no use living animals.Is this our future?

Two is we no longer have the industrial power over here to do so.
Three, we cannot afford to pay an anmerican a livable wage to repair them when they break.
oh...and four, we are greedy and will not want to make the sacrifices nessessary to repair and boost our economy.
Why should we pay an american good money for a inferior product or service...when we can get the same, better, and even cheaper from Japan, China, or Mexico?
It would, and does make it appear that buying american is stupid today!
When really it is not....
NOT buying american is stupid and self-destructive to this nation.

Consider this.
If we stopped importing their goods and cheap labor and exporting them our money, industrial power, and wealth to them.
Or even made imports harder to obtain.
Would the demand for factories and factory workers increase here, making them more valuable?
Imagine unskilled american laborers in DEMAND?
