Lebanon sees no need for Israel talks
Lebanon has rejected Israel's offer for holding peace talks for a second time, saying there is no need for negotiations with the regime.
"We favor direct, bilateral negotiations in which all issues of dispute are up for discussion," Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert's spokesman Mark Regev said on Wednesday.
He claimed that "Israel wants peace with Lebanon."
Lebanon however rejected the offers in a statement, saying "Lebanon's position is known and that there is no cause for bilateral negotiations with Israel."
The statement from Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora's office on Wednesday added that "Lebanon remains attached to the Arab peace initiative which calls for a just and comprehensive peace.”
The plan endorsed at an Arab summit in Beirut in 2002 offers full normalization of ties with Israel in return for a complete Israeli withdrawal from territories it occupied in the 1967 Middle East war.
Israel launched a full-scale invasion of Lebanon in 1982 but its forces had to withdraw from the country in 2000.
Tel Aviv fought another war in Lebanon against Hezbollah in summer 2006 to destroy the resistance group but it suffered a heavy defeat.

Well even prior to 2006 Fouad sinoura refused to talk to Israel without the Arab League accepting Israel's existance.
Even if Lebanon wanted to talk to Israel it can't happen.
If that happens, all the funding from the Gulf Arab states (which fund the Christian/sunni gov't would be gone) and the Syrian/Iranian aid to the South Lebanese would be gone.
It's a complete loss for Lebanon as a whole.
Lebanon was once called a traitor state when it's one time president Bachir Gemayel took weapons from the Isaeli's.
That's why none of the arabs cared when the Syrians entered Lebanon and bitched them around.
You guys should study history before making up the crap you make up.
There is no win in Lebanon making deals with israel.
Just like there is none for most Arab states.
Jordan's king is regarded as a coward (by most Jordanian residents), and mubarak is regarded as a foreign agent by most Egyptians.
And guess who is the most popular party in Egypt.
The Islamic Brotherhood.
Why? Because they want to go back on that peace treaty with Israel.

If lebanon or egypt prefer war with israel over peace, they can have it.
what's the point?
|
 |
If there is no need for peace talks with Israel, doesn;t that mean that Lebanon prefers war?
Why did they bitch that they got attacked after they attacked Israel?
What did they expect?
Surrender?

Makes sense how Lebanon's ties with the Arab League effectivly eliminates the option for individual peace.
But why even bother when Syria is doing it?

There is NO need to 'negotiate' with Barbaric States if to start with.
We have tryed hard to 'instal' democracy in the Middle east.
We failed. So, thank you and You will see what happens next.

Is there not a more interesting subject than the self destructive god hating people of Israel and Palestine.
The devil has certainly impregnated the holy land with hate.
The world looks on in disbelief.
No wonder Gods on the decline.
