Polls Allow polls and poll votes to be editable - vBulletin Community Forum
Feature request: allow poll votes to be editable by voters and polls to be editable by its creator.
By editable polls, I mean the ability to add new poll options.
You wouldn't want the creator to be able to delete poll options or edit the description of a poll option since that would lead to cheating / deceptive polls.
However, being able to add new poll options allow an on-going poll to be created and updated.
For instance, vBulletin can create an on-going poll to find out what feature requests its members are most interested in.
The admin can keep on adding new options for members to vote, while members can edit their votes to account for any new options.
Note that creating multiple polls to find out the members' interests would not generate the same view and results as posting one on-going poll with multiple options.
My proposed feature request would be like viewing the poll on a macro scale versus a micro scale.

Administrators and Moderators can already edit polls to add more options or remove options as well as changing votes already cast.

That does not help my feature requests, which were:
1.
Polls should be editable by its creator (NOT just admins / moderators)
2.
Poll votes should be editable by voters / users (NOT just admins / moderators)

How can you trust the integrity of any question asked if anyone can edit it?

Ummm, please read my post more carefully.
As I wrote earlier:

I read your post.
I don't agree with your suggestion.
Even the adding of new options later can lead to cheating / deceptive polls.
Allowing anyone to edit polls that they have created or allowing users to change votes at any time negate the value any poll would bring to a topic.
This makes the feature worthless.

Well then, I guess you don't see the value of my suggestion / example given in my first post

As administrators we can already do what is suggested as an example in your first post.
In fact we have done so with the poll on this thread:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100464
Almost every one of the 100 supported importers were once on the poll.
As they were implemented, they were removed and new ones added.
However having a large poll thread for feature suggestions is counter-intuitive and would make things more difficult to get suggestions implemented.
Just like large threads with hundreds of features get mired in off-topic discussion and prevent the suggestions from being reviewed properly.

Well, if the VB team found a use for on-going polls that are editable, then who's to say that users won't also find them useful?

Sounds like a great opportunity for a plugin.
