Was it the quarter crack or did Big Brown Bleed?
Have they decided yet if Big Brown Bled?
Was it the quarter crack?
If the quarter crack was that bad where was the State Vet?

I don't think either or you'd have seen him walking sore afterwards as tv cameras were there.
They said they scoped him and were checking for mucus but would have seen blood and they never mentioned that.
i think he got a terrible ride for whatever reason.
An excellent rider like desormeaux rode him like he was a sack.
broke good had rail and a good hold and he let horse take off which put him right behind and into those 2 horses then steadies him, then pulls him out and around using him again to sit 3rd already 4 wide stays at least 4 wide under a hold but still keeping up pace with the other 2 horses then on turn goes even wider as he asks him but he has already burnt out the horse
dutrow is not a hero of the nyra robber barons

You are probably correct warden..
The horse sure seem to run on empty all of a sudden!

How could any horse in any race especially a 1/5 shot get pulled up yet jog off the track sound and not be called to the test barn to test?(or was he?)
and the jock - why is it the ex-jocks and others on tv none of them mention how desormeaux pulled up a sound horse with over 5 million bet in win alone on him.
why did desormeaux appear so upset BEFORE the race that the guy who acts 100% of the time like he's on helium - today he was too nervous to speak to the reporters for a minute?

Or could it be he didn't get his steroid shot on the 15th like he does every month?

The trainer was Quote: d earlier in the week stating that he was not giving him a steroid shot for this race
But my guess would be he bled or was sick....
I thought he got a good trip - fairly slow fractions and jock got him to the outside just like his last race in Preakness.
Even though he had to be grabbed a little so he wouldn't run up on the horse in front of him just after the start - I guess there is a chance he chocked down from this.

BB,
The sad part is they announced it on ABC live television Richard Dutrow wanted to show the world what a great horse horse he is even without steroids
He showed us

I stated earlier that I thought the thoroughbreds hid their dirty laundry better than we did - I take that back.
He was also interviewed this week on tv and he was asked about his past suspensions and fines.
He said " I deserved some of them, some of them I didn't."
I think (anyone know for sure?) that they are outlawing all steroids effective next year in all states - I wonder how much his stud fee went down today?
I think it was a bad day for horseracing in general today - but not for the fact that they didn't get their Triple Crown Winner !!!!

Looked to me like he was so on the bit and Desormeaux checked him so hard TWICE before the first turn that he was washed out by the time they turned up the backside.
He never grabbed the bit again.
I would not be happy with that ride if I was the owner but the horse did seem awful keyed up at the start.
Then it looked like he puled him up just so they would have an excuse why he lost.
Wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow you get the old he bled or tied up.
And one of the reporters should've asked Dutrow why all of a sudden he had nothing to say.
I'm not an overly religious person but I certainly would not have pissed off the racing gods with the comments he made all week.

He bled money trainer got launched quarter crack cracked him between the ears
|
 |
I would actually say that he flipped his palete was rank and flipped end of his race 90% wont keep going .
He had a terrible hold on the horse into the turn.
Anyway that is what i said when he was loose lined in the last turn ..

I am sorry, Why the *** does everyone now need an excuse to why he was empty today?
30 years since a horse has been able to do this 30 ***ing years.
3 races in 5 weeks.
Enough said. He was empty today that is it.
You guys all are typing like the idiots at HP!!!
Thought people here were fan of the game, not assholes like them?
If that is the case, well I don't need to be posting here either!!!!
My god, thought there was knowledgeable people here who liked the game

On the clubhouse turn, jockey Kent Desormeaux just shoved him out, almost skittling Anak Nakal.
But it put Big Brown in the clear, very wide, but with space to cruise and accelerate when needed.
It never happened.
Big Brown was in trouble five furlongs from the wire.
There was no visible reason for his sudden lethargy.
In the classic phrase of all jockeys, Desormeaux said, "I had no horse."
The jockey said he believed something was wrong so "I took care of him." He added, "I have no idea what went wrong?"
---
And just weeks ago Desormeaux was acting like he was an authority on everything!
--
I would have liked to hear Dutrow or his owners asked about the ride their horse got.
Just to see them squirm out of answering truthfully.

Just a friendly discussion as to what might have happened.
Yeah he threw a cluncker race in but the media left Big Brown with several excuses.
I was just disappointed about the steroid use issue myself.

Pezz;
I first got on my pony's back about 55 years ago, and my life has mainly centered around horses ever since.
Trust me on this.
3 races in 5 weeks is not the main problem.
Some of us are knowledgeable , do like the game, and do care.
If not we would be doing something else, and would follow Big Brown about as little as we now follow Tiger Wood.
