.... the Bulls could be looking to take advantage of the Kings' apparent desire to unload contracts by offering Nocioni to Sacramento for Brad Miller, a second person familiar with the situation said.
Kings coach Reggie Theus is said to be none too pleased with the organization's decision to trade Ron Artest to Houston, because he knows that signals the end of trying to compete for a playoff spot and the beginning of another potentially ugly rebuilding period.

Reggie needs to deal with it.
If he thinks that team had a legit shot at going deep in the playoffs, he is sorely mistaken.

This would in no way be a surprise -- Theus has been blathering about playoffs since the moment he got here, and in all ways has seemed like an oddly bad coach for a rebuild.
As a college guy, I thought he might be more rah rah kids, but in reality he is desperate to pad his win %.
In any case after he spent the enitre last month of the season blowing atrocious amounts of smoke up Ron's butt (possibly with Brad's herbals ) you knew he was not going to be happy about the team committing to a rebuild.
The other interesting thing is how wide a gulf emerged between Theus and Petrie/the front office.
He was largely defying them down the stretch fo the season, and you get the feeling Geoff is making these moves now with almost no reference to what Reggie wants at all.
He is going to build the team his way, and Reggie is just going to have to live with it.
If he can't he is in the last year of his contract and there are lots of guys looking for an NBA head job.

Suck it up, Reggie.
Since it seems the owners are finally giving in to the concept of rebuilding, they should tell Reggie that his performance won't be judged on wins and losses, but on the development of the young players.

The Kings gave you your big shot as an NBA head coach, and you should have known that they weren't going to be contending.
Now if you play your cards right and get on board with the program, you can be here for a long time and develop into a really good coach.
If not, you're in the final year of your maiden contract, and you should be careful to not let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.
In other words, no one cares what Reggie Theus thinks about the Ron Artest trade.

Reggie needs the same advice as Artest...keep your mouth shut and do what you're paid to do.
Instead of telling people you're unhappy with the Artest trade, tell them you're excited to have the chance to mold and develop some exciting young players, if you just have to say something.
(Even if you don't mean it.
Times like this, I really miss closed-mouth Adelman.)
Personally, I can't believe he didn't see this coming when he took the job.
A healthy ego is good.
Too much ego can blind a person.

You've got a lot of young exciting talent on this team and you're getting rid of a major problem.
Besides, you'll look like a better coach when the young players gel and start winning than if you have one ego maniac carrying the team limping into the po's...

Theus played the role of a dissimulator last season, albeit to get in the playoffs.
Apparently he felt this would give him better bargaining power with this years club.
It didn't happen, so now he sulks over what's obvious a rebuilding scenario for the Kings?
I trust Geoff to bring the pieces together, let Theus work from that aspect.
If he can't or won't comply, let him walk.

Theus needs to realize that no contending team is going to hire him and the only NBA coaching job he has right now is right here.

I would not make too much of Reggie's recent comments.
He is a very competitive person.
What would you expect him to say at first blush?
It was not HIS plan to trade Artest, his best player.
I expect that Reggie will adapt to the new franchise dynamic and do well.
He will apply his energy and motivation towards this new, Petrie-Maloof, goal.
Rebuild the Kings from scratch.
Kings fans probably need to "suck it up" and see whay happens over the next six months.
It's all good.

I'm quite disappointed with Reggie's apparent lack of 4th dimensional thinking.
He's being handed a bevy of young talent with K-Mart, Hawes, Salmons, Cisco, Greene, Thompson, Beno and potentially Nocioni and Noah if there's truth to those rumors and that goes through.
It's his chance to mold and design a young team however he sees fit in whatever style he thinks works best, without the pressure from management to win now.
For a sophomore coach fresh out of college, this would seem to be an ideal situation.
Call me crazy.

Comparing the Kings situation to the Knicks is ridiculous.
The amount of bad decisions and bad contracts taken doesn't even compare.
We have very promising young guys.
The Kings will be back to being a good team before the Knicks will be.
The Knicks have been bad for quite a while now.

He's like me and doesn't want to tank, but the FO seems to be heading in that direction.
And for those of us who want Rick back..i know he was a good coach that got us to the playoffs every year...but think about it.
No matter how good of a team he had (even if we were screwed) he couldn't get us to the finals.
It's no different in Houston so far.
I think they will have the same "get to the playoffs every year but never win the championship" curse that Adelman brings with him.
I like Reggie alot, at least he has some fire under him.

I agree with you and the others that have said this is "much ado about nothing." Essentially this beat writer just wrote he "heard" that Reggie was upset at the trade.
From who? I have not found any public comments from Reggie regarding the trade.
Please correct me if this is not true.
I could see Berger getting his info much like this:

Reggie: It's too bad we had to part ways like this.
I really thought we had a chance to make the playoffs this year with Ron as part of our team.
We have alot of young players that will have to step up now.
Local Reporter to writer in midwest: I talked to Reggie yesterday about the Artest trade and he said he wished he could have kept Artest to make a playoff run.
Writer in midwest to Berger: I talked to so and so from Sac yesterday and he said Reggie was pissed about the trade and now he knows he has no choice but be stuck in a rebuild.
And hence Berger writes in his blog "Theus is said to be none too pleased" and now we are ready to fire him.

Reggie needs to shut up and work with what hes got, or his "hang time" in the league wont last half as long as his show.

So I'm guessing it was Rick's fault that the team missed 14 free-throws at game seven?
Or how Doug missed a wide open three at the end of the game to give us the lead?...lets go back one game (game 6).
Was it his fault that the refs helped out the Lakers?
Or Bibby's nose being called for the foul?
Sure Rick made some mistakes, but everything wasn't his fault.
