Evening Classes, Adult Education, Further Learning, Night Courses information in Ireland!

I am looking to pursue a career inYouth and Community Work and would like to get a qualification in it...am workinh part time so would meed a flexible course

Hi Armagh. NUI Maynooth offer a Diploma in Youth and Community Work.

Go to http://cappss.nuim.ie//courses.shtml for information.

The Institute of Technology in Blanchardstown also offer a BA in Applied Social Studies in Social Care on a part-time basis.

Go to http://www.itb.ie/site/courses/bn906.htm.

The only thing is that you have to be working in the social care area for at least two years.

Contact both colleges for details.

Liberties College (01-454 0044) may also do a FETAC Level 2 course but it is too late to start anything at this time of the year.

Usually they begin in the autumn.

If you go to "Search for your Course" on this page and just type in "Social" you will get a list of more courses.

Miriam.

Hi i am looking to get in career guidence councelling.

I work full time and have a fine art degree so i either need a night course/ distance learning course if possible.

Any suggestions!

Hi Oscarears1. If you go to the website of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (www.igc.ie) you will see the various recognised courses that are on offer.

Some may want you to have the H.DipEd and some teaching experience before you apply.

The only part-time one is run by the University of Limerick but they have outreach centres in different parts of the country including Dublin.

There is no distance learning course for Career Guidance.

NUI Maynooth also have a course in Adult Guidance for people who have been working with adults in some sort of advisory position for a few years.

Miriam.
