PC Pro: Interactive: Forums: Comments: Apple wins case against Beatle's Apple label
Apple Computer has won its court case against The Beatles' Apple Corps.

It really was a foregone conclusion that Apple would win.

Excellent news.

Is it just me, or does the apple logo in the new iPod+iTunes ad appear just a tadge more prominently than in ads published before the ruling?

That ad must have been made before today's ruling, but the logo at the end seems pretty standard to me.

BBC breakfast news this morning believed Apple(Mac) would loose and have to pay many millions to continue linking Apple/iTunes to the FAB4.
It is good to see a common sense ruling )

So when do we think we'll see Beatles songs on iTunes?!?

Well if the rumours of the £5 million legal bills are true then tomorrow!!!
Though the greedy buggers may wait till after they lose their appeal and the bill hits £10 million.

Isn't it more likely that the Beatles catalogue will appear on every download service EXCEPT iTMS!

I'd say not. Apple Corps.
Would probably want to recoup as much money as they could, and ignoring a service that has circa 80% of the downloads market would be like cutting of their nose to spite their own face.

I don't agree. I like Apple Corps more than I like Apple Computers, because I regard J Lennon as a more admirable individual than S Jobs, and I like the daft idealism of the Beatles Apple scheme.
As far as I can see the American Apple is just another huge soulless moneymaking machine, and their computers are pretty crap too.
Cheers!

Surely Apple Corps, which nowadays produces nothing but licenses and litigation is the epitome of a soulless corporation?

Songwriting aside, most accounts of Mr Lennon's personal life tend to paint him as a complete t*t who was perpetually awkward and had real issues with women.
Son, look at all the people
In this restaurant
What do you think they weigh?
And out the window
To the parking lot
At their SUVs taking all of this space

As far as I can see it's just a tax dodge.

I think this thread will clear that up.

Good God a fifteen page clear-up...
Ah but I'm a computer repair person, so my perspective on the relative merits of computers is how repairable are they, which in the case of laptops in particular means can one take them to bits and put them together without harming them?
And the way that Apple laptops have generally been designed means that's at best a "probably" and often more like a "maybe".
I'd generally rate them as nearly as bad as '90s Toshibas, and that's not good.
But you're right about Apple Corps being a tax dodge;
A very colourful tax dodge, with oodles of sex and drugs and funny music, which is how I for one like my tax dodges.
On the other hand, Toy Story was a very good film.
Cheers!
