writeing help - Penciljack Forum

Hi there, i'm new here and love this place already. i have loved comics since childhood, i'm have been inspired to write a comic book of my own.

I have recently bought some books to help understand how to create them, i'm no artist but i do wanna write a story and see it become published.

So can anyone help me with some newbie tips how to start like panel angle, caption, ect...

Things like that thanks alot

Go to the writing section and read other peoples short comics and other peoples crites associated with it for help with blaring mistakes

I'm not trying to be a dick here or anything, but if you really want people to take you as a serious writer then user proper grammar and correct spelling in all of your posts.

Also look at some sample scripts or some scripts other writers here are posting and ask TONS of questions.

Sounds like Set and Craig have started you in the right direction.

Besides reading other scripts, read comics in general not just your favorites, but check out everything you can to see how people are telling their stories in new and different ways, and then read some more.

When you're not reading you'll want to write, write, write, practice makes perfect and you'll never going to get better if you just keep your work to yourself, so feel free to post it in the writing section to see what others think.

Just a warning before you become a poster that post 10 scripts crits none and then wonders why no one is critting your work, becoming an active member will help you get the quality crits you want.

If you really want to write comics then just start writing comics and your style will adapt to your learning process along the way, things you start doing at first will more than likely change as you go on and you'll realize what does and doesn't work.

Good luck with this and I hope to see some of you work soon.

Thanks guys I was wondering how long should a caption be.
