10 Volume "Beat Beat Beat" Series - SH Forums

Britain's "Voiceprint" label have just released a 10 volume NTSC/All Regions series of discs from Germany's "Beat Beat Beat" music series, recorded in black & White between 1965-1969.

Excepting "the Best of Beat Beat Beat Vol.1"(which runs 42 minutes),the other discs range from 9 minutes to 25 minutes. The rock groups all perform live, while the solo vocalists all lip-sync(excepting Chris Farlowe's version of "Ride on Baby",sung live to a recorded backing).

Picture quality is excellent, and sound quality is decent for 1960's mono T.V.

Sound(though sound on The Kinks is muddy, and sound on The Tremeloes is distorted). Track Line-ups are as follows: The Hollies-Beat Beat Beat: Stop Stop Stop/On A Carousel/Bus Stop/Instrumental(I.E.

"Guitar Boogie" or "Jeff's Boogie") The Yardbirds-Beat Beat Beat: Shapes of Things/Happenings Ten Years Time Ago/Over Under Sideways Down/I'm a Man The Small Faces-Beat Beat Beat: Hey Girl/All Or Nothing/Watcha Gonna Do About It/Sha La La La Lee The Kinks-Beat Beat Beat: A Well Respected Man/Oh Please/'Til The End of The Day/I'm A Lover,Not a Fighter/You Really Got Me Spencer Davis Group-Beat Beat Beat Somebody Help Me/Sittin' and Thinkin'/Please Do Something/Keep on Running Episode Six & Eric Burdon and The New Animals-Beat Beat Beat: Episode Six-Morning Dew/I Can Hear Trumpets Blow Eric Burdon & The New Animals-Tobacco Road/Roadrunner/ C.C.

Rider Dave Dee,Dozy,Beaky Mick & Tich and The Troggs-Beat Beat Beat" Dave Dee,Dozy,Beaky,Mick & Tich-Hideaway/Hold Tight/Touch Me Touch Me/ Bend It/Save Me The Troggs-With a Girl Like You/I Can't Control Myself/You Can't Beat It The Best Of Beat Beat Beat Vol.1: Barry Ryan-Eloise Brian Auger,Julie Driscoll & The Trinity-Save Me/Road to Cairo Casey Jones & The Governors-Come On and Dance/Don't Ha Ha Cat Stevens-Granny/Matthew & Son Chris Farlowe-Out of Time/Ride on Baby Herman's Hermits-No Milk Today/My Reservation's Been Confirmed The Easybeats-Loving Machine/Friday on My Mind The Best of Beat Beat Beat Vol.2: The Mindbenders-In The Midnight Hour/A Groovy Kind of Love/Don't Cry No More P.J.

Proby-What's Wrong With My World P.P.

Arnold-Speak to Me/The First Cut is The Deepest The Creation-I'm a Man/Painter Man The Best of Beat Beat Beat Vol.3 The Move-Walk Upon The Water/I Can Hear The Grass Grow The Searchers-Love Potion No.9/Sweets For My Sweet/C.C.

Rider The Smoke-My Friend Jack The Tremeloes-Loving You is Sweeter Than Ever/Silence is Golden/Here Comes My Baby These discs are excellent!

Great stuff,but nothing I don't already have....

But this is legal...and for that is why I will be keeping my eyes open for them~!

This is indeed legal.

My only complaint: The Move played 3 or 4 songs, but only 2 of them are included in this series. Some websites(such as Amazon.co.uk) list a "The Best of Beat Club Vol.4" and they show the artwork, but they've never had the disc.

It would appear to be an artwork mock-up for a volume that didn't happen, and which would have included Jimi Hendrix Experience tracks, plus other artists whose performances ended up on Vol.2.

So are mine...Granted,this is the first time this stuff is getting a mass retail release (all in one package),but the majority of these have been reaired on German TV over the last twenty years. Many even came out on LaserDisc...

It's "Beat Club"(another German music series) that was the subject of 15 Japanese Laserdiscs.

Isn't there alot of Beat,Beat,Beat mixed in with the Beat Clubs?--I know they're liscensed by the same company & often lumped together...

There's NO "Beat Beat Beat" material on those Laserdiscs.

As an update to the above, The Kinks song that is mistitled "Oh Please" on the Kinks DVD is really titled "Milk Cow Blues".

The Kinks' Beat Beat Beat session included six songs, not five;

"Cadillac" was never broadcast, but it's still disappointing not to see it included here.

Even so, this is probably the best live document of the group in that era (I like it a lot better than the Kelvin Hall album), and the quality's better than the versions I had before.

What's a good place to get these from?
