Drunk/half-drunk offering prayer / entering in mosque? - sunniforum.com
This morning before Fajr a brother and I went doing jaula/ziyarah/gasht to a kebap-fast food to invite our not-practising brothers to join us offering Salat-al-Fajr at the mosque.
Two/three brothers wished to come with us, but they told that they had drunk beer and so couldn't enter in mosque.
So, I'd like to have a confirmation to these two points separately:
1.
Can a drunk (or half-drunk, or however after having drunk some glass) brother offer prayer?
2.
Can a drunk (or half-drunk, or however after having drunk some glass) brother enter in mosque?
This is important as to how to interact with brothers who drank some glass of beer but who wish to come with us to mosque: this sometimes happens and I don't know if I can insist with them and suggest them to offer two raka`atayn of tawba or if I have to desist from insisting.

Mashallah good question.
Hope someone answers it soon.

Firstly, I'm not a Mufti, so will not be able to give a legal ruling and currently do not have the recollection of this mas'alah.
However, there is the Qur'aan ayah in which Allah tells us:
"And do not approach salaah when you are intoxicated until you fully understand what you are saying."

Assalaamu'alaikum
There is some ikhtilaaf on the issue.
Some scholars have said that if you are drunk it is fard to pray your salaah, but that you also have to repeat it in a sober state.
Other scholars said that you wait until you are in a sober state.
At the moment I'm not able to tell you which scholars and out of what madhahhib said what.

Please brothers, I would need these infos this morning..
And what about entering in mosque after someone drank alcohol?
to who answered and will answer me, and to whoever reads this thread.

I believe, the only time you can't enter masjid is when you are in the state of janabah/haidh.
Since alcohol is najis (same standard as urine, in shafi'i madhhab), he just need to wash his mouth and where the alcohol goes to (his shirt, hands, etc) so that it won't contaminate the masjid.

Brother alfatiha.
The only fatwa I found till now is from a "salafi" web-site, and give the following tafsir of {Â…until you know what you are saying.} [Quran 4:43]:
"This proves that the drunken person who is prevented from the prayer is the one who is intoxicated to an extent that he does not know what he says, and that the drunken person who is conscious of what he says is not meant by the prohibition of approaching the prayer."
What's the opinion of the respectable knowledgeable brothers on SF?
Are appreciated answers according madhhab Hanafi and Maliki, .
